After almost twenty years in flight, the Cassini orbiter will use the last of its fuel in a set of intrepid orbits before diving into Saturn and burning up. Cassini is a spacecraft created by the collaboration of NASA, the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. It is one of the greatest space missions of all time as it has sent back millions of spectacular images to Earth.

Cassini also deployed the Huygens Probe to land on Saturn’s largest moon Titan, which became the second only man made object to land on a moon in our solar system – an incredible achievement!

This workshop celebrates the mission and will encourage children to draw some of the outstanding images sent back by Cassini.

To apply for tickets, e-mail castletownevents@opw.ie. Please include ‘Astronomy Workshop 2017’ in the subject heading of your e-mail to be included in the draw. Successful applicants will be notified by Monday, 4th September.
