Musici Ireland:
Violin: Mia Cooper
Viola: Beth McNinch
Cello: Bill Butt

Formed by violist Beth McNinch in 2012, Musici Ireland has developed a reputation for producing unforgettable chamber concerts for audiences of all sizes, collaborating with the country’s finest musicians.

As a diverse and flexible ensemble, we take great pride in bringing chamber music to new audiences. We’re constantly challenging ourselves, building on our repertoire and programming exciting new works mixed with traditional pieces.

Beth explains “As an experienced chamber musician, I had long been drawn to the work of groups such as The Nash Ensemble and Camerata Pacifica and realised that there was an opportunity to develop such a group in Ireland. Wanting to explore this expansive repertoire, I was lucky to draw interest from many of the top musicians working here, and so Musici Ireland was born. We have succeeded in creating a flexible ensemble that can adapt to any chamber repertoire.”

We have enjoyed two highly successful concert series at the NCH, most recently our 2017 5×5 series. This celebrated our 5th Anniversary by showcasing our favourite programmes in a series of 5 Lunchtime recitals. We were delighted to begin 2018 with a new collaboration between the National Concert Hall and the National Gallery of Ireland to mark the opening of the Turner exhibition. 2019 saw the ensemble make their debut at the Kilkenny Arts Festival with two concerts and in 2020 they start a mini residency with Music For Wexford, including a mentorship scheme for talented young string players to join them in a performance led by Mia Cooper.

We are thrilled to continue our collaborations with promoters, venues and festivals, and to further develop relationships with Irish Composers. We’re also very passionate about continuing to support the development of future generations of audiences through education projects and ticketing initiatives.
