He studied under Emmanuel Lawler at the TUD Conservatoire.\nSeán is an established theatre maker and performer\, blending his training as a singer with storytelling.\nHe has produced a trilogy of autobiographical work with his second show\, ‘Nine Weeks’\, receiving five stars from the Irish Times.\nAfter his most recent sell-out show on the main stage at Smock Alley Theatre in October 2022\, he is delighted to be performing at Castletown House with accompanist Thomas Kehoe.\nSeán will be performing a selection of arias from the Romantic era.

To mark this special occasion\, join pianist Brendan Kennedy as he performs works from Rachmaninov’s early and late period (and everywhere in between!). \nAs listeners\, one tends to associate a nostalgic quality with Rachmaninov’s music and of course who could fail to mention the majestic bell sounds that one finds throughout his output. He was an absolute craftsman in contrapuntal writing for the piano and he was daring in his harmonic exploration.

DESCRIPTION:Irish Mezzo Soprano Gina Oberoi Engela is an experienced concert and opera performer. \nPrevious engagements include world premiers of Dan Forest’s Jubilate Deo and Irish Composer Martin O’Leary’s Psalmus. Gina was a company artist with Cork Opera and is a regular artist with Limerick Opera Festival. She has performed Mahler Lieder Eines Fahrenden Gesellen and other works for Mezzo soprano multiple times and continues to work with several prominent choral societies both in Ireland and UK. \nGina completed her Bachelors and Masters in vocal performance at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.
