Welcome to Castletown House

When it was built in the 1720s, Castletown set a radical precedent and it is an extraordinary part of our cultural inheritance. Now, as the OPW breathes contemporary life into Ireland’s earliest and finest Palladian house, it is trailblazing once more. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Castletown House is open 7 days a week from 10am to 6pm (last entry 5pm).

Access is by Guided Tour only.
Tour Times: 10.15, 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00, 15.00, 16.00, 16.45

For group / school bookings (more than 8 people), please e-mail castletown@opw.ie.

The grounds are open daily all year round, and are free to enter and explore.

Be sure to put Castletown House on your itinerary this summer when you can discover, or rediscover, the fully conserved Crimson Drawing Room.
